Pneumatic Conveyance

The pneumatic conveying system enables us to transport bulk material using gas (generally air) at high or low pressure. The bulk material is conveyed in pipes or in part in tubes. There are two types, namely air-blown/ lean phase conveying and plug-flow/dense phase conveying.

The gas velocity for air-blown conveying in the medium pressure range is between 18 and 30 m/s and therefore high enough for the bulk material to be nearly blown or vacuumed through the transportation pipe.

Bulk material is fed into the pneumatic conveying system by special injection rotary valves.

The bulk materials are separated – if necessary - using cyclones or filter separators.

Continuous or batch conveying (also as a weighing system) are also possible.

Applications

  • long and complex conveying screws
  • batch processes with several components in different compositions (formulations)
  • feeding of mixers and compactors (advantage of requiring little space)
  • handling of very dusty products
  • boiler feeding
  • combination of processes such as conveying and drying

Customer advantages

  • individual and complex transport solution by means of simple pipes in the area
  • high degree of automation possible
  • easy to install
  • dust-free and hygienic conveying
  • high throughput rates are possible
